The Itsy Bitsy Spider

John has made up a second verse to the Itsy Bitsy Spider song that he does each night with the kids when he is saying good night to them. Well tonight the kids asked me if we could call Daddy and sing it with him before bed. I didn't realize John was out at a restaurant when I called but he was so great and went outside to sing to the kids. Annie & Charlie where laying in bed and Audrey was on my lap on the floor, I set the phone on the dresser on Speaker Phone so they could all hear and sing a long. All of a sudden Audrey starts looking at the phone and once she realizes it is daddy her little lip starts to quiver and she starts sobbing, then Annie breaks out crying and Charlie is sitting there with tears in his eyes. Poor John! I don't think that was the response he was expecting. I finally got the kids all settled and asleep - along with promises of a gift from daddy on his return.

We have been having a really quiet weekend here at home. It has rained all weekend so we stayed in doors for the most part. Marissa (Dante's wife) came over for dinner and we had a great time visiting and chatting. She makes the best Salsa ever! John is going to be so excited when he gets home that there is some left over for him.

Monday's are a busy day at our house, not only is it the day we get back on schedule but Annie has ballet and Charlie has Karate. (Just as an FYI Annie has her Ballet recital on June 8th so mark your calendars.) We are excited though because John comes home Tuesday and we all miss him tons!

Another week

It seems like everyone is on the mend. Audrey came down with an ear infection on Tuesday and so now all three kiddo's are on Antibiotics but with that everyone seems to be getting better. They all seem to be a little cranky and are ready to fall asleep come 7:00 but it is nice to see everyone up and playing at our house.

Audrey had another first this week. I was doing the dishes the other morning and Audrey was wandering around the kitchen and then I look up and she was standing on the kitchen counter. I know there comes a day when your child learns to climb but I was seriously shocked when I looked up and she was up there!

Annie had Pajama Day at preschool today and she loved going to school in her Jammie's! She had to take BunBun (her bunny she sleeps with each night) with her because she was in her jammies. It is fun to watch Annie grow up and have fun at school.

Sick in Sunny California

It has been beautiful here in Sacramento the last few weeks but unfortunately we aren't getting to enjoy it at all because our house has been hit by the flu.

Charlie spent all last week home from school with the flu and on Friday I took him back to the Doctors because he stayed up all night crying on Thursday saying his ears hurt. Turns out both of his ears were infected. After a few days on Antibiotics he seems 10x's better.

Annie came down with a fever on Thursday. It was 103 but she didn't really have any other symptoms. On Saturday her fever got up to 104.5 and she was just lethargic on the couch all day. We took her into urgent care and surprise she has pneumonia. Yesterday she was up playing around but today she says her head hurts and she is back to laying on the couch. The doctor said after a few days on Antibiotics she should be feeling much better

Audrey has run a slight fever off and on for a few days now and she seems to have a continually dripping nose but sometimes I wonder if that is par for the course when you are 1. She is starting to get a cough and she is super cranky, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is the worst of what she gets.

John seemed to have a version of this few weeks ago and is doing OK now. I have had a headache for a few days now but I don't think mom's really can get sick so I am just repeating that over and over to myself.

We had a low key Valentines day at home last week. John brought home a heart shaped pizza and the kids and I decorated heart shaped cupcakes that afternoon. On Friday I ran to both kids classrooms and got their valentines so they could open them. I think they really enjoyed that but I felt bad for them that they had to miss their parties. When I ran into Charlie's classroom his teacher said there were only 10 out of 18 kids at school that day.

The week before that though John's dad came for a visit. We had a really nice visit with Joe here. John and Joe went out on one of their traditional Father/Son dinners and then we spent the weekend at home visiting. The kids loved getting to see Pop! Audrey thought Pop was hilarious, she would walk up to him and just start laughing non-stop. They are also looking forward to Nan coming to visit them next month.

John is going to Las Vegas this week for a business trip but his friend Dante is going along for the road trip (they have to haul a bunch of water filter's and display booths to the convention he is attending). I think John is looking forward to mini-vacation/business trip and hopefully they have a great time.
