Fishing with Dad

We are so lucky to have lots of recreation right in our back yard. We have a few lakes out here that are stocked each spring with trout and bass. Charlie and John got up a few weeks ago and hit the lake to see what they could catch. Charlie caught a small fish and was devastated when it jumped out of the bucket back into the lake (boy guy didn't realize he couldn't have kept it anyway - it wasn't big enough!)

Twirl!

After I got Audrey dressed this morning she looked up at me and held onto the bottom of her shirt and said in the saddest voice - "mommy, it doesn't twirl!" To be 2 and have such troubles in life!

What a week!

A few times I have meant to sit down and blog but for some reason or another something always seems to come up. Life has been busy but good! Summer Rec finished this week and to celebrate we came down with the flu at our house. There was a point in the middle of the night on Thursday that all three of our bathrooms had people getting sick in them ~ what fun for me to clean up once we were all better!

On a good note though we found out that baby Garrison #4 is a GIRL!!! We don't have a name yet but we are super excited that she is healthy and doing good. My due date at this point is December 6th. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she might be able to make her arrival around the 1st though. I am doing better these days - the morning sickness isn't as bad I just feel exhausted all the time! I could take a nap about 30 minutes after I get up in the morning and I am still tired.

Charlie, Annie and Audrey are doing good - they have loved to have friends over to play on their new water slide and are getting excited that school is going to start soon. Annie can't wait for Kindergarten to start.

John has to go to San Diego for the week so it should be a nice slow week at our house.

Only to John would this happen....

So yesterday afternoon I emailed john a listing I saw on our local web site for Rancho Murieta, Upright Piano for $125. He called and left a message, well last night I had to work in the snack bar at baseball and apparently while I was gone he went and looked at the piano, took one look at it, said yes & paid the guy. They arranged that they would try to move it later last night or today. Well John came home called some piano moving companies and found out it would cost about $400 -$500 to move this piano 2 blocks.

If you know John, you know what I am going to say, he thought he could figure this all out and make it work! No he did not try to move this 500 pound piano himself. First he called Dante who was out but who had a piano dolly in his garage (really, who knew there was such a thing and that Dante would just happen to have one lying around). Next he called our Realtor who has two teenage boys 17 &18 to see if they were free at 9:00 on a Friday night. Yep they were so John, these two boys and the original owner of the piano along with Dante's piano dolly went to work. The first was getting it out of the first house which had 3 steps down to the walkway. They did that then being so smart they decided that instead of lifting into John's truck they would just push it home! Yes, down Murieta Parkway at 10:00 now comes the Piano in the dark, cars were swerving, a golf cart almost ran them over and a few people even stopped to offer help. Well these guys were going to move the piano themselves, but... eventually someone realized they smelled smoke, I am sure you are wondering what that is from - the wheels on the piano dally melted as they were being pushed up the street. So John sent one of the boys to get his truck to load it up in, then while they waited the other boy started a mini concert in the street until the truck came, by 10:30 the piano was in our house and can I just tell you how beautiful it is!

Everyone is so excited about it, Charlie keeps asking when he will get to take lessons. I will post a picture soon but stay tuned for piano recital invitations....

Fun in the Sun!

For a few summers now John has wanted to get the kids a water slide for the back yard. Now that the house is ours this was the summer to do it! So when we got home from the doctors office after getting Annie's cast off it was waiting in the backyard for the kids.

Needless to say they LOVE it!

4th of July

I know I have said how much I love living where we do but the 4th of July just makes me say it again! I love our little community - someone said it is like Mayberry but with golf carts.

Annie getting ready for the parade to start!

Charlie ready to go!

We got up Saturday morning and finished decorating the kids bikes so they could ride in the parade. They all had so much fun riding with their friends and throwing candy at the crowd. After the parade we went to the carnival at the lake and had hot dogs, played on the bounce houses and played some games. We came home for a rest and to play on the water slide.

My parents, sister Caitlin & our good friend Dave came over for a bbq. We all had a nice relaxing evening then we headed over to the golf course to watch the fireworks over the lake. A ton of the kids friends were there with us and they all had a blast running around and playing together. After that we came home and watch the fireworks John and the kids picked out. Everyone stayed up WAY past bed time but we all had a great day!
