All about Audrey

Audrey turned 18 months this week! How did the time fly?

I took her in for her check up and she weighs 28lbs (90%) & is 32 1/2 inches (97%). I think she is going to be another tall one!

Audrey is a happy, happy little girl. John calls her Thumper because he thinks she reminds him of Thumper the rabbit in Bambi - always happy and on the go! She is starting to talk and is getting more teeth every day. She truly is a wonderful little girl!

PRE Schools out for the summer!

Today was Annie's end of the year party for Preschool. They had a cute program and lunch for the parents today. The kids sang a bunch of songs and then the kids who were moving up to preschool came out with little hats on and got graduation certificates. Annie still has another year of preschool but she is excited to be done for the year. She has made some good li

We are looking forward to a fun summer of summer camp, swim lessons and lots of fun play time!

Blast from the past

So this week at school it is dress up days and today Charlie had to wear something from a different decade -not really having any cool boy clothes that could suggest he was a different decade (he would not wear a polo shirt with the collar up like in the 80's) I dug out some shirts of Johns that Gerry had saved for him. So Charlie ended up wearing a shirt from 1983 from the a Gold Rush Run.

Cowabunga in the Hole!

Today John took the kids over to the country club to go to the driving range and I was going to go in an order dinner so when they were done it was waiting for them. On the way in I stopped to watch Charlie for a few minutes. He is actually kind of good! It was adorable to watch him hit the ball. But the best part was the girls tonight!

When you get your balls they come in small beach bucket size baskets. Audrey thought these baskets were great and went around picking up all the empty baskets and started out on to the greens to get the yellow balls she thought were Easter Eggs. John dumped some of Charlie's balls out for her and she had a blast picking them up, dumping them out, and repeating it over and over again.

Annie got out one of Charlie's clubs and was putting around with it. At one point John and I hear Annie yell "Cowabunga in the Hole" and then the ball went flying! She was awfully cute - we may have to invest in an even smaller set of clubs for her! (maybe if we start early she can go pro!)

Another Day, Another Tooth.

It seems in our house teeth are coming and going! Audrey is getting 2 teeth right now and Charlie lost his 2nd tooth on Wednesday night.

I was reading stories to the kids at bed time and Charlie sits up and says "mom, will you help me pull out my tooth?" I wiggled it for a few minutes and then told him to ask dad to try. Charlie came running upstairs with plastic bag in his hand that had a little tooth in it!

He was so excited to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. I have a feeling with 3 kids in the house the tooth fairy may go broke trying to keep up with them.

Moving along in life

It seems like catching up on this blog seems to be put on the back burner in life. Everything has been going well for us. Just BUSY!!!!! Not to mention it got hot quick, we have already had a few days over 100 degrees already. The kids have a little wading pool in the back yard and a fun sprinkler they are enjoying. I just keep hoping it will cool off for a few more weeks.

Audrey is teething and now has 6 teeth with 4 more ready to pop through any day. She is such a fun little girl. She has gotten very affectionate and much more friendly with other people. There are 2 mom's of kids in Charlie's kindergarten class that she just loves. Any time she sees Tessa or Marty she toddles over to them hugs their legs and puts her arms up to be picked up. Then she will just rest her little head on their shoulders and sit there as long as they will hold her. It is very cute! She is starting to talk more and more each day, while she doesn't have a huge vocabulary she can definitely get her point across. She says tank - for thank you and she has learned muur- for more. I am working on please with her and she seems to be getting what I am saying, she just can't form it yet. Her favorite word is now Maaama that she will sit and yell until I come to her or do what ever she wants done.

Annie is getting so big, she is almost done with her first year of preschool and I am impressed with all she has learned. She wants to be a big kid so much! She has mastered her scooter and not that we would tell Charlie but is much better at it then him - I think she is just fearless on it so she is more adventurous and willing to go crazy with it! She is still taking ballet and is getting ready for her first ballet recital in June. She has definitely gotten into a Whining stage that we are trying to break her of. When she whines I put my hands on my ears and tell her I can't hear her, it always seems to result in some eye rolling and then she will lower her voice.

Charlie has taken up golf with his dad! In fact he even got his own clubs & has already hit a ball through a window! I know John and Charlie are enjoying the time together. I am going to sign Charlie up for Jr Golf out here in RM for the summer. I think he will love it. Kindergarten is almost over for Charlie. I will be sad for him to leave his teacher, Mrs. Wathen, I just love her but he is ready for first grade and keeps telling me how many day's left he has until then. He is learning so much and having a great time in Kindergarten. Right now his class is studying a life cycle unit so they are raising silk worms, they also have a bunch of caterpillars that are making cocoons and they are raising chickens from eggs. They have a neat incubator in their class that they can see inside the egg (it is back lit in the incubator). Charlie is doing great in baseball. He seems to be really catching on to it and is turning into a great hitter (he can hit it out into the outfield and has had some great line drives past 2nd). Last Saturday he played catcher at his game and he caught over 1/2 the balls which is better than anyone else on the team has done.

John and I are doing good, just busy. I helped out at Charlie's school for Teacher appreciation week and that was lots of fun, now we are working on field day on the last day of school. I get to go on Charlie's field trip tomorrow to the farm and I am helping out with Annie's preschool graduation so it has been lots of committee meetings, but it has been fun and I have really enjoyed getting to meet a bunch of mom's out here.

May the force be with you!

I don't know who was more excited tonight John or Charlie but we watched Star Wars with Charlie for the first time! He has been playing with a friend who is a Star Wars Fanatic and so they have been pretending to be Luke & Darth Vader in the back yard for a few weeks now. So we have been talking about it with Charlie and he has been looking forward to watching it. Needless to say, he LOVED it! (not to mention his dad was super excited to watch it with him!). I have a feeling before the weekend is over we may be out buying the trilogy.

I will admit I had moment of mother's nostalgia realizing how quickly my son is growing up and turning into a young man. Wasn't it just yesterday he was enthralled with Teletubbies now it is Star Wars, I think before I know it is going to be Jaws and Indiana Jones.
